I am Associate Professor for Political Science, within Public Policy & Administration, at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

My research interests include comparative political behavior, comparative political institutions, public policy, and administration, with a focus on interactions between politics, law, and society in cross-European comparison. Methodologically, I work with quantitative methods, computational text analysis, survey experiments, and game theory.

My work has appeared in outlets including the Journal of Politics, Legislative Studies Quarterly, the Journal of Law and Courts, and the Journal of Legal Studies. I am a principal investigator for the Constitutional Court Database and the German section of the Comparative Agendas Project. I currently serve as Chair on the Steering Committee of the ECPR Standing Group on Law & Courts.

I hold a PhD in Political Science from the Center for Doctoral Studies in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Mannheim. My dissertation on the political power of highest courts was published by Palgrave Macmillan as The Two Faces of Judicial Power and received several awards, including the Dissertation Award of the German Political Science Association.

Before joining NTNU, I held postdoctoral positions at the University of Konstanz and the Collaborative Research Center on the Political Economy of Reform at the University of Mannheim. I previously worked as a research associate in comparative politics at Leibniz University Hannover and Georg-August-University Göttingen, and I was a visiting scholar at Emory University.
